If you have already registered and have a username and password, enter it in the username and password boxes and click Login.

If you are a new user you must register. You can click Login as a Guest and get access to our taster courses without needing to register. This is the quickest way to get involved, but you do not get the full privileges of being a registered member, also you will need to register to attend any full courses. Registration is free and very quick.

To begin click on Create new account on the right hand side of the page. You will be taken to this screen (diagram 1.1) .

diagram 1.1

Fill in your details.

Write down or save your username and password as you will need these each time you log in to the site.

Enter an email address you can get access to straight away as you will need to check it as part of the next step. Note: email addresses are always all lower case (no capitols).

When complete click Create my new account

Step 4: Check your email and confirm your account
Now check your email and you should have received confirmation of your registration. It will look something like this (diagram 1.2). If it has not arrived after a few hours try registering again and check your email address very carefully.

diagram 1.2

Open the email and click the link to confirm your registration, you will then be taken back to our online learning site and you will see a page confirming that you are now registered. Underneath this is a link to our Courses. Click this and you will be shown a list of courses like this (diagram 1.3):

diagram 1.3

As you can see the taster courses are all at the top. Simply click the link to begin the course you would like to try. Once inside a taster course it will look a little like this (diagram 1.4):

diagram1.4

The main course content is all in the middle of the screen, just read and follow instructions. Please leave us some feedback in the forum at the end.

There are a few other side boxes that will be unfamiliar, these are all pretty self explanatory and will come into use when you begin a full course. They include things such as: Upcoming events, Dates when assignments have to be in, News Items and other Participants that are online or on your course.

Step 5: Returning to our online learning website
As you are now a registered user. Make sure you remember your username and password. When you want to return to login again and try another taster course or continue with one, simply open your internet browser and go to: http://www.wealondononline.org.uk/ this will take you to the front page which looks like this (diagram 1.4):

diagram 1.5

In the top right hand corner is a link to log in (this is on every page) but on the front page there is also a box below called Login where you can type in your username and password directly. Once complete click Login to be logged in and returned to the front page.

You can access all the taster courses from the middle panel on the front page.

Step 6: Update your profile
If you are planning to use this site more than once it is worth updating your profile with some information. When you enter forums and online discussions it is nice if your picture appears next to your entries and if people want they can read a little about who you are. This is not compulsory but makes the environment more friendly and is encouraged.

To update your profile, Login and then click on your name in the top right hand corner of the page. This takes you to your current profile with the default image of a smiley yellow man. It will look something like this (diagram 1.6):

diagram 1.6

To update the information and your picture simply click Edit Profile and fill in the boxes. Remember to click Save Changes at the bottom of the page when you are done.

Navigation can be confusing at first when using this site. You need to rely on the breadcrumb trail, this is list of pages in blue at the top left of the screen beginning with WEAlondononline >> this will always give you your position within the site and you can click on any of the pages listed to return to them. For example clicking on WEAlondononline will take you right back to the front page.

Good luck and enjoy!
