Try out our taster courses to get a flavour of the variety of full courses we offer in both Art Practice and Art Theory. We are now running a lot of courses online, meaning you can even learn straight from your home!

All the taster courses below are online. They all use the same system our full online courses use, which is called Moodle. This is a website that acts as a virtual school allowing you not only to attend courses from your home but also get marked, receive tutor feedback, have conversations and even do group work with other students who are also in their homes!

At first this environment can be a little unfamiliar but it is very easy to get the hang of. Just click one of the taster courses and get involved now, if you run into difficulties click here to see our short tutorial in using Moodle.

If you would prefer all these courses are also available for print.

Measuring Angles and Proportions
One of the hardest things about drawing from observation, is getting proportions and measurements right. Too often the student makes an approximate guess at these. forgetting that the subject is in 3 dimensional space and that they are working on a 2 dimensional space.

What is negative space?
Negative space is the space around objects that images the objects together and helps us to see the composition we wish to draw as a whole. As such, it is the underlying structure that forms the composition.
