WEA London Management
London WEA is managed by a Regional Management team comprising: Regional Director, Regional Education Managers, Area Learning Managers and a Regional Finance Manager.

These teams are responsible for creating, organising and delivering learning programmes in London against region plans. Each team has a number of Tutor Organisers and tutors who manage and deliver our learning programmes.
Curriculum Management
The teams divide the programmes we run in London into Curriculum Management Areas (CMA’s). A named Curriculum Area Leader (CAL) is responsible, along with the WEA tutors, for the management of each CMA. The CMAs are:
WEA Branches
WEA branches are small, local WEA groups run by volunteers which organise courses, requesting tutors and other support from the Region. You can find out more about them on the volunteers page.
In addition, as a result of its campaigning history, the WEA has connections with other education organisations across the World.
Governance
The Region is governed by a single body of volunteers known as the Regional Committee. This Committee is responsible for scrutiny and governance of the management of curriculum, assets and resources in London.
How are we financed?
WEA London’s main source of income is the Learning and Skills Council (LSC). Each year, we estimate how many students we will reach and the type of courses we will offer. This plan becomes our contract with the LSC. The LSC funds most adult education organisations in the UK and inspects their work to ensure their education is of a high quality.
A proportion of our income comes from the fees that learners pay to take our courses.
We also receive funding from other organisations and partners including local authorities, trade unions and trusts. This is usually special funding for specific projects over a limited period; a project may be the result of partnership in a particular area of work, or a way to develop innovative courses.
